Excellent tours, organization, and transportation; we had a very beautiful experience. We want to thank our guide Marco for his excellent service and kindness; he always treated us as if we were lifelong friends. He told us about and we learned many things about Costa Rica; he even took us to see macaws, herons, crocodiles, and more along the way, and he helped us find other little animals in Manuel Antonio Park because they are sometimes hard to see. He even helped us get a last-minute tour because another agency had let us down. If we ever return to Costa Rica (and we definitely want to), we would go with Tico Travel again, for sure.

We booked two excursions, and both exceeded our expectations. Our first tour with Carlos took us to the volcano, breathtaking waterfalls, and a coffee plantation. From the moment we met him, he was warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He shared so much of Costa Rica’s history, culture, and traditions throughout the day, making the experience both educational and unforgettable. We never felt rushed, and he made sure we had plenty of opportunities to enjoy each stop and take photos. Our second excursion with Jose was to Baldi Hot Springs in La Fortuna, and it was just as exceptional. Jose was friendly, professional, and also shared fascinating information about Costa Rica during our drive. Both Carlos and Jose made us feel completely safe and comfortable throughout our tours, and their passion for their country truly showed. He guided us very well through the day, gave us a lot of information about Costa Rica. On our next Costa Rica visit we will definitely do a tour with Larry again.

Rxcellent tour, recommended Tico Tours, we recently made the two night and three day tour to Tortuguero with Tico Tours, a very pleasant experience, although with some problems in transport without any consequences, everything planned was successfully fulfilled, at the established times. The guides very good, both Fernando and Henry excellent in treatment, knowledge and disposition. We made the walk through the canals, the visit to the village of Tortuguero and the Hotel Pachira chosen, very good. Really with very successful planning and carried out successfully.
Benten W10/02/2026Great full-day experience Louis gave us a great experience, with a tour of a coffee farm, Poas Volcano, and La Paz Waterfall gardens. It was an excellent full-day of memories for our little family of four. Highly recommend.
Claude S06/02/2026A lack of pura vida here. The national park is without doubt a beautiful place, with impressive beaches and prepared walkways that improve accessibility. We arrived early in the morning and there was already a huge queue to enter. When we got in, it was filled with huge numbers of people, where one guided group shuffles along in front of another with several more following or pushing by to view anything. This obviously diminishes the chances of seeing much undisturbed wildlife. If you are just going for a swim its probably good enough to visit , but as any kind of wildlife experience it's simply too overcrowded now. The registered guides ( dont be fooled by those hanging around the gate) are doing their best but the park authorities need to get control of the number of people allowed to enter otherwise it will not be worth visiting. This view was expressed to me by a number of Costa Ricans we met. Having spent almost a month travelling around Costa Rica, this was the least rewarding part of my visit as it just felt overcrowded throughout. I'm saddened to say I wouldn't think of going again.

Nos llevó a vivir un día increíble visitando el cafetal, el Volcán Poás y las Cataratas de La Paz. Su atención fue excepcional: es súper amable y se encargó de que estuviéramos muy cómodos durante todo el recorrido. Lo que más nos gustó fue lo mucho que aprendimos gracias a él. En el cafetal nos explicó detalladamente la historia del café y sus procesos, y en el Volcán Poás nos dio explicaciones fascinantes sobre la flora del lugar y los tipos de gases que emite el cráter. Además, en las cataratas nos guio por rincones hermosos que jamás hubiéramos descubierto por nuestra cuenta. Sin duda, cuando vuelva a Costa Rica lo buscaré de nuevo para conocer más lugares increíbles. ¡Un 10 de 10!

Queremos agradecer al guía Marco por su buenísima atención y amabilidad, siempre nos trató como si fuéramos amigos de toda la vida. Nos contó y aprendimos muchas cosas sobre Costa Rica, incluso nos llevó a ver guacamayas, garzas, cocodrilos y más en el camino, y nos ayudó a encontrar otros animalitos en el parque Manuel Antonio porque luego son difíciles de ver. Hasta nos ayudó a conseguir un tour de última hora porque nos habían quedado mal en otra agencia. Si algún día regresamos a Costa Rica (que sí nos quedaron muchas ganas), volveríamos con Tico Travel, definitivamente.

Gorilla ReviewsWe stayed at the gran hotel and Ticotravel adventures was operating out of the lobby. I didn’t do any tours with them but they did organize a private shuttle for me and my family to La fortuna (volcano arenal área). They did such a great job when we needed to get back to San Jose, I called and the arranged a driver to pick me up at my hotel in Manuel Antonio and bring us back to San Jose. I highly recommend them for private shuttle service.
