Jose was friendly, professional, and also shared fascinating information about Costa Rica during our drive. The national park is without doubt a beautiful place, with impressive beaches and prepared walkways that improve accessibility. We arrived early in the morning and there was already a huge queue to enter. When we got in, it was filled with huge numbers of people, where one guided group shuffles along in front of another with several more following or pushing by to view anything. This obviously diminishes the chances of seeing much undisturbed wildlife. If you are just going for a swim its probably good enough to visit , but as any kind of wildlife experience it's simply too overcrowded now. The registered guides ( dont be fooled by those hanging around the gate) are doing their best but the park authorities need to get control of the number of people allowed to enter otherwise it will not be worth visiting. This view was expressed to me by a number of Costa Ricans we met. Having spent almost a month travelling around Costa Rica, this was the least rewarding part of my visit as it just felt overcrowded throughout. Stale ham sandwich for breakfast, they forgot to pick someone up so we had to wait 1.5 hours which cut into the beach time. Staff wasn’t overly friendly. Snorkeling was extra $20 but was awesome, the beach and snorkeling made the day a bit better. Still very disappointed.Verified Great experience I had an amazing time on the zip line and ATV tour! We stayed at the gran hotel and Ticotravel adventures was operating out of the lobby. I didn’t do any tours with them but they did organize a private shuttle for me and my family to La fortuna (volcano arenal área). They did such a great job when we needed to get back to San Jose, I called and the arranged a driver to pick me up at my hotel in Manuel Antonio and bring us back to San Jose. I was highly pleased with 2 of your representatives regarding a short tour to a volcanic site on 30 Jan, 2026. The agent at Gran Hotel managed to find me a tour on short notice which fit well with my last day in your country. He also gave a lot of good information about places of interest with walking distance of the Hotel Gran. The other was my tour guide, Luis. He was very informative regarding history and points of interest, as well as rounding out the tour with a beautiful (Los Angeles) cathedral on the way back to the hotel. We went with this company, since they offered so many different types of tours and the customer service was awesome. We went with the rainforest tour, and it was a day we'll remember for the rest of our lives! Our tour guide Adrian was phenomenal! He was fun, engaging, kind and most importantly he did a wonderful job guiding us through the La Paz waterfalls, the volcano and the coffee farm. Obviously the views of these locations were amazing itself, but to have a well versed tour guide who knows the area and the best local shops to stop at and immerse yourself in is everything! From start to finish everything was easy, from booking the tour, to front door service pick up and drop off. The tour also came with food, which was amazing!! By the end of the day, we felt like family. I really could go on and on, but I'll just say this, my husband and I have been to many countries, and this is one of the best tours we've been on.
